A Beautiful and Emotional Story of Love and Loss

I'm always on the lookout for new authors and books to read and was recommended Bring Me Back based on some of my recent purchases. I had never read anything by Micalea Smeltzer before but the cover looked intriguing and the enigmatic book description made me very curious so I decided to purchase it. I really had no idea what to expect from this book but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
"Life can be cut short in an instant, so make sure to live with no regrets and love with all your heart."
Blaire Kessler and Ben Carter have known each other for a long time and, now that they are in their late twenties, they are getting married soon and eager to start their new life together. Unfortunately, even the best-laid plans don't always work out and the protagonist needs to find a way to cope with everything.
"But love...love is never wrong. If there's anything that's right in the world, it's love."
Bring Me Back was a good, emotional story of love and loss and it really pulled at my heartstrings. I could feel the protagonist's emotions and grieved, cried, and laughed. I actually picked this book to read while on vacation but there are some parts in the book that are sad and will make you want to cry so I don't consider this book to be a lighthearted read. There are, however, parts where the author's sarcasm and humor shine through and I greatly appreciated that because it helps to balance out the sadness. Overall, this book was a good find and I will be looking to read other books by Micalea Smeltzer. Be prepared to read this with a box of tissues!

4.5 gut-wrenching stars!

I don't even know where to begin with this book. It completely gutted me! Like, more than any book in a long time. It made me physically HURT. I haven't ugly cried this much since Slammed by Colleen Hoover. It took me a little bit to get into it because I was coming off of a major book hangover from Written in the Scars by Adriana Locke (read that!), but once I did...OMG!
**Small spoiler ahead**
This book is about grief. And it's REAL. For a large chunk of this book, the grief is all-consuming. It's described exactly the way it's experienced in real life, and it HURTS. But the beautiful part is the healing that comes after the grief, the strength and courage it takes to move on, and the love and support of the people who love you that keep you from being completely swallowed up by it.
If you're a fan of books that rip your heart out, shred it into a million pieces, and eventually put it back together, this book is for YOU!
This was my first book by Micalea Smeltzer, who has come highly recommended by a friend, and it definitely won't be my last. But I will have to wait until I can breathe again. ;)

I loved this so much!

I kept seeing this is book in my "Recommend" list. I bought it finally after 2 months and finished 1 more book. After I finished my "1 more book" I bought another one, I started it and didn't like it after 5 chapters. And being a Mom of 5, in the evenings reading was my oasis. So I finally realized that I had this book! I started reading it not knowing what to expect, next thing I know it's 3:30am and had to put it down. This book has highs and lows. But this book is so AMAZING! I've read close to 150 books in the past 2 years (After a horrible car accident, due to a poorly constructed intersection, a girl ran a red light and I t-boned her she didn't make it, I did. 2 surgeries later) and this book was so well written it feels like you are her.
To The Author: You are an extremely talented author and I honestly look forward to reading more of your books! Thank You for all your talent!
