Good story, terrible Kindle formating

The story is about a young man, Leo, who supposedly can trace his ancestry to the Egyptian gods, and the older man who adopted him when Leo's own father died. Leo wants to find out his origins, so they leave England and travel to Africa, where they meet Ayesha, She, who supposedly is thousands of years old, and is of unequalled beauty. She thinks Leo is the incarnation of her ancient lover and so Ayesha holds both men under her spell, and tries to take them under the earth to a so called fountain of life, where she tries to persuade Leo to step into the fountain of life, and so become immortal. This story is good enough, but the Kindle formatting is terrible. In the early part of the book, there are several pages of nothing but questions marks, and then several pages where some of the words are again full of question marks. It is evident that no one edited this book, and that is really a shame. I would guess that Amazon is not going to take any extra pains to correct a book that is free, but that is really the shame. I feel that Amazon should not offer books, even if they are free, it they don't take the time to properly format them.

Was there an OCR problem?

It's a shame this excellent story was butchered by whomever was supposed to edit it and the proof-reader if there was one should be tarred and feathered. No one can read the Kindle version of "She" and think it could be one of the best and most popular novels ever written. Allan Quatermain would shoot the person with his eight bore rifle who offered this great book to Kindle readers in it's current, slaughtered form.

GREAT story, WORST formatting EVER. I could hardly get through the book with all the question marks. The story was great, one of Haggard's greats, but I just got so frustrated. I didn't find a recipe I'd actually try. Some general information on inflammation. No information on why to avoid or include certain foods. Anything that uses the fear based, "if you can't pronounce it don't eat it" line, is obviously not based on facts or reliable. Don't waste your time

One of Williams' best novels

Difficult to find, sometimes difficult to understand, this particular novel of C.S. Lewis' contemporary Charles Williams has something his other novels lacked; it was difficult to put down. Williams is reknowned for writing about the numinous as though he has experienced it directly, probably the strongest point of his writing. In Many Dimensions, Williams has created a cast of likeable characters who interact with real emotion and occasional witty humor, hand in hand with the author's standard forays into the paranormal. As in "All Hallows Eve" Williams' creates a strong female protagonist, something rare among his Inkling colleagues. The story centers around a miraculous stone, once the property of an ancient king whose wisdom and power were legendary. The characters in the novels react to the appearance of this stone in 20th century Britain with varying motivations and actions. For some, the stone is a mode of power, much like nuclear energy, while for others it is "the end of desire," a spiritual force unparallelled on earth. To reveal any of the plot points is to take away from the joy of reading this fantastic book. A must have for fans of C. S. Lewis, G. K. Chesterton, or Clive Barker. (I have this sneaking suspicion Williams' was an influence on Barker)

Nice Follow-along to "War In Heaven"

On page one the reader finds that Charles Williams's "Many Dimensions" has a setup similar to his "War In Heaven"- namely, that the scholar Sir Giles Tumulty (a crossover character from "War...") has obtained an ancient artifact which purportedly has supernatural powers of a religious flavor. The remainder of the book develops as a struggle over the artifact between those who are aligned in someway with the forces of light and those aligned with the forces of darkness.

"...Dimensions" falls short of "War..." in that Williams's narrative in "...Dimensions" is less cohesive and more prone to various sidebars and extraneous characters - always a risk in a Williams novel. To his credit, however, the extraneous sidebars and characters allow Williams to perceptively comment on some character types and issues commonly encountered in the modern (or post-modern) world.

Though perhaps not as good as "War in Heaven", worth reading as a loose sequel to that book, or can be read as a stand alone. Somewhere between 3-4 stars and generally better (if only by being more substantive) than most contemporary fiction and certainly better than "The Da Vinci Code".

Awesome read! Very much enjoyed this book!!

I have this in the collectible hard cover, but also wanted the ebook version. This story is so very interesting that I could read this book over and over. The author did a fabulous job with her research. It is written in a unique way, especially because of using the quotes from people who knew the victims and the murderer. If you really like a true crime story, this is your book. This isn't your typical book, however, the author has written it more like a quality piece of literature. At times it reads more like a novel. I highly recommend it!

Missing Information

The book itself is a light, good, read. Trudging boring at times, until one gets to the authors brief reconstructions of the murders. What is particularly galling, is the fact that we are told at the very end of this publication, that, the e-book is an abridged copy of the "collectors" edition. If I would have known that beforehand, I would not have contributed to the enrichment of this author. Obviously e-book people must be substandard, we don't get the whole book, even after we pay for it. Shilling at it's best. I will never buy another book published by this author.

I accept that this book is based, more or less, on hearsay. Nevertheless, the writer manages to paint an image of how life was in this place at this time. I live very close to Stokes County and was interested in the historical aspects of this tragic story. Great job with this story Shvonne. I enjoyed this story line. I loved Jersey. She had a good life in the beginning but when her father made a choice that would affect everyone things changed and she had to make a choice in order to have a good life. Cheyla had moments where I wished I could knock some sense into her confused butt. Lol. She had her moments a lot. I felt for poor Ivy. Here she was doing what she felt she had to in order to provide for her child yet she still gets hurt by the one person who was supposed to love her and have gotten his act together. I loved Kill, Kantwan, and Elijah. Those three were something else. Neither of them treated women disrespectfully! Kantwan was a sweetheart. Kill was something else. He had eyes for one person and eventually he went for her. They actually are cute together. Of course they had to deal with a jealous individual. Elijah knew who he wanted and was willing to wait until she was out of her situation. He didn't mind chilling with her and her child. He was a good dude. Portland made me so mad. He is trifling for how he did Ivy. Now that Tommy. Smh. That man was too dirty for me. I was so glad Jersey never went there with him. So looking forward to book two.

Shvonne Latrice know how to write a story that will hold your attention from beginning to end. I enjoyed reading about Kilexis and Jersey, Cheyla and Kantwan , Elijah and Ivy. Now that the background of the main characters has been established in this installment along with the drama that's going on in the life of the couple's I can't wait to see the real action and drama to begin once Ivy Baby Daddy find out who she is with now and how that going to effect Jersey and Kilexis relationship. I can't wait to see if Kilexis and Kantwan brother Ka'Shea will be getting out of jail and if he will be joining his brothers and cousin in running Alex empire. And I'm wondering will I get to find out how Alex sons feel about Kilexis taking over their father empire. Also hope to see what's going to happen to Jersey Mother and just what happen that day she was arrested. Can't wait to start reading part 2 so that I can get my answers.

I'm so glad Jersey and kill got it together. And kant is perfect for Cheyla. Glad she finally came to her senses and got her man. Poor Ivy, she loves a man who doesn't give a darn about her. Glad she has Eli to hold her down. I can't believe Jersey's mom finally snapped.

Bring On The New Crew

Out of the gate, I will tell you that this is a difficult read for a lot of people. What amuses me about the negativity is, though, there is a boat-load of drama, angst, and personal conflict in all of the crew series... and this is the beginning, just the beginning. Bloodrunner Dragon is laying a foundation for the series in Harper's Mountains, so there is naturally going to be some difficulty at the beginning.

Far from being happy-go-lucky, cheerful young people, the shifters that come together to be the Bloodrunner Crew have all had a difficult time, more or less, adjusting to their lives elsewhere. Part of the reason they do come together is because they have history, as they grew up together as childhood friends, and still feel that love and fealty, though they are having problems with honesty and trust, and they do not have a strong Alpha yet; the prime candidate, Harper, is suffering from the Sickening, because as a dragon shifter, she needs to find her treasure, and she has great heartbreak in her past with Wyatt. He is a hot mess, and frankly, the rest of the crew are very rough and difficult, also. But this reminds me so much of how it must have been when the Damon's Mountains crews first came together; we seldom see that there, as we are dropped into the already-formed crews most of the time; perhaps in the Boarlanders you see more of the foreshadowing to this, how it is when the family unit of a crew struggles to actually become.

All in all, this book makes me want to find out more about these characters, and hear their stories, see how they mature as the series goes on. Because I have no doubt that this author knows what she is doing with them, and has a plan. She has redeemed characters that were absolutely awful and made them heroes in their own right; if there's one thing you can bring with you out of a T. S. Joyce book, it is that just about everybody, if they have love and determination, can discover purpose and solidarity with a family of their own making.

OFFSPRING OF THE BOARLANDERS MAKES A GREAT NEW SERIES

Once again one of my favorites does not disappoint. I love this new series and that is the children of the Boarlander Crew who are getting their own stories.

I loved the last of the Blood Runner Dragons and Harper was one of my favorite of the children. Well to be fair they were all my favorites, but she was the only girl so she was sort of special. I loved her story and the fact that Wyatt was her treasure didn't hurt. Even if the road to their final mating was long rocky and almost killed her it was worth every minute of the story time.

I know if you loved T.S. Joyce's Boarlander's and the other crews you will love this one too. Great concept and great story.

Bloodrunner Dragon (Harper's Mountains Book 1) b. was a very gripping book.

Enjoyed this book from start to finish. Harper a dragon shifter is dying because she needs her treasure. Wyatt who is her mate left her to find her treasure. He finds it but must raise money to purchase the land. He became a consort to a vampire for money. He becomes frustrated and makes contact with Harper and she immediately comes to him. The vampire queen doesn't appreciate it. Wyatt isn't the typical bear shifter in this story, I find refreshing. I couldn't put this book down.

easy to read

First of all this book is very well structured, easy to read, with well bounded topics. I have a close friend suffering from severe depression so it's good to get some further insight into the subject. Anyone who wants to learn more should definitely check this book out. This book has tips and illustration that gives a reader an idea on the in-depth explanation of depression and its coping mechanism. Recommended it.

Depression is something that I have personally experienced multiple times in my life. I would describe myself as a "type A" personality who is a very hard worker. When things wouldn't go my way, I would feel depressed because I knew I worked harder than everyone else and I still came up short. After my latest experience will college finals, I needed to look for a way to relieve some of the stress and I heard great things about this book so I decided to check it out. The chapter that was most interesting to me was the chapter about nutrition and how that can attribute to depression! If we keep decide to eat unhealthy, fast, food our bodies don't get the real nutrients it needs and it gets much more junk that must be processed. All of the junk can cause our bodies to use our blood supply that would normally go to our brain to begin going to the stomach to aid in digestion, causing us to become extremely tired and lazy, which if experienced on a day to day basis, can feel very similar to depression. This is an absolutely fascinating guide on learning the little things as well as the big things you can do to diagnose and pinpoint the areas of your life that are causing you to be depressed!
