it was easy to draw conclusions from

What an outstanding story this was!!
Immediately that prologue grabbed me and planted the need to see how it came about and how it plays out. Of course, after reading the prologue and seeing Sophie’s reason for her apprehension with any romantic involvement with Nick, it was easy to draw conclusions from. But that wasn’t the point of the story. This was truly a love story. Breaking down Sophie’s walls. Nick being a stand up type of guy. He was thoughtful and so caring to Sophie. The details of their fall were sweet and real. I would have loved to sit and read their story in one sitting but I couldn’t and I think not being in it constantly I lost that feeling. But just a little. There was a small part that I wanted to get over just so I could know and see the resolve.
“Do I get a third date?”
“Yes,”
“And a forth?”
“Okay.”
“And a fifth?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Can I have forever, Sophie?”
“Char-”
Such uniqueness, the plot the way it was told, surprisingly shocked me that I did enjoy it as much. It was dual POV but not a complete rotation. Nick was the overall voice here but at times when it was important to see Sophie’s thoughts and fears we had her POV. I thought that was done so well. The yesterday and today (past/present) isn’t a favorite of mine but when both sets of stories flow it doesn’t matter. This is that type of read. It didn’t matter that it was in the past past or their today. There was a lot of being told, and that small area where I was ready for the conclusion this weighed it all down but the story flowed and been having walked through their story this way worked.
I think for anyone who wants to venture out of the normal romance read and really feel a story this is marvelous one to try.

“I need someone who will care about me if I don’t come back. I need someone to care about me, Sophie. I don’t have anyone and I need someone. I desperately need that someone to be you.”

This book was a beautiful romantic read from beginning to end.
It takes the reader back in time, but being a military spouse, who was raised in a military community it took me to the base that I grew up on; the community that I grew up in and the people I grew up with.
There is very little violence, very little sexual content, it's just written with feeling. Written from the minds of two people in love and in conflict.

Second Chances!!

5 stars! This was such a great second chance romance...Picture this book as another THE NOTEBOOK and PEARL HARBOR-the movie mixed together in this book that's what I kept thinking about while reading this book. Oh and I like how the song playlist was included Hillsong United- Oceans is the best song ever one of my favorite songs
