Awesome read! Very much enjoyed this book!!

I have this in the collectible hard cover, but also wanted the ebook version. This story is so very interesting that I could read this book over and over. The author did a fabulous job with her research. It is written in a unique way, especially because of using the quotes from people who knew the victims and the murderer. If you really like a true crime story, this is your book. This isn't your typical book, however, the author has written it more like a quality piece of literature. At times it reads more like a novel. I highly recommend it!

Missing Information

The book itself is a light, good, read. Trudging boring at times, until one gets to the authors brief reconstructions of the murders. What is particularly galling, is the fact that we are told at the very end of this publication, that, the e-book is an abridged copy of the "collectors" edition. If I would have known that beforehand, I would not have contributed to the enrichment of this author. Obviously e-book people must be substandard, we don't get the whole book, even after we pay for it. Shilling at it's best. I will never buy another book published by this author.

Tears Should Have Meaning
By The Troll Under the Bridge
I accept that this book is based, more or less, on hearsay. Nevertheless, the writer manages to paint an image of how life was in this place at this time. I live very close to Stokes County and was interested in the historical aspects of this tragic story. However, while reading the book, the family and friends did take on a quite realistic quality that allowed me to view this tragedy in terms of the human element as opposed to the sensational qualities of the story. I will definitely reread this book in the future.
